Caring for the Elderly
At St. Paul’s Family Centre for the Aged, our dedicated mission is to provide a caring home for elderly individuals who lack support. Our goal is to enhance their quality of life by offering a sense of belonging, spiritual nourishment, and access to essential medical care.
Officially opened in 2005, the centre is located in Bwenkoma along the Mbarara-Kabale Highway, spanning approximately 20 acres. It features dormitories for the elderly and their caregivers, a clinic, a 200-seat chapel named Our Lady of Grace, and a serene Grotto of Mother Mary for private prayer.
Generously donated by Bishop Paul K. Bakyenga of Mbarara Archdiocese in 1998, this land serves as the cornerstone of our efforts to improve the lives of elderly individuals in Uganda.
The Centre for the Aged aims to improve the quality of life for the elderly poor in Uganda by focusing on the following objectives:
- Providing spiritual nourishment and counseling.
- Providing spiritual nourishment and counseling.
- Establishing an outreach program to cater to the elderly.
To achieve these objectives, the Centre for the Aged relies on the generosity of well-wishers and members who contribute through donations.
